The Association of Public Relations Agencies unites Lithuanian agencies providing quality services of public relations and consultations and follow strict ethical standards in their operations.
The Association was established on February 17, 2009, with the aim of ensuring ethical and professional standards among the agencies and improving business environment in this field in Lithuania.
The Association unites 16 agencies.

 

Our objectives are:

  • Representation of the agencies` interests in a variety of situations,
  • Improvement of the reputation of the agencies,
  • Improvement of ethical norms and standards of performance of the agencies and their business environment,
  • Improvement of the legislation regulating the operations of the agencies.

In order to reach the above objectives, the Association organizes hearings and meetings as well as educational and business events, communicates with state and municipal institutions and non-governmental organizations, conducts investigations and public opinion polls and actively participates in public discussions on the issues of public relations.
The member agencies undertake to follow the approved Code of Ethics under the supervision of the Court of Honour of the Association.

 

Structure:

The Association of Public Relations Agencies is managed by the Board comprising five members. It is elected by the General Meeting of Association members. The Board sets the operational strategy and programme of the Association and organizes its daily activities.

The members of the current Board are:

Romualda Stonkutė, Chairman of the Board
Sandra Meškauskaitė, Member of the Board

The Chairman of the Association of Public Relations Agencies is elected for one year from among the members of the Board.

The current Chairman of the Association of Public Relations Agencies is Romualda Stonkutė.

 

Ethics

The members of the Association of Public Relations Agencies undertake to follow the approved Code of Ethics. Their compliance with the said Code is being supervised by the Court of Honour of the Association of Public Relations Agencies comprising 5 members:
1. Rūta Skyrienė, executive director of the “Investors Forum” Association
2. Renata Matkevičienė, Vice-dean for studies of the VU Communication Faculty, Department of Information and Communication
3. Daiva Lialytė, director of Integrity PR, UAB, a representative elected by the Board of the Association
4. Paulius Tamulionis, director of Idea Prima, UAB, elected by the General Meeting
5. Dalia Kutraitė, elected by the General Meeting

The Court of Honour of the Association of Public Relations Agencies only examines the applications of legal entities regarding possible violations of the ethical standards of public relations.

How to become a member of the Association of Public Relations Agencies?
Individuals and legal entities from Lithuania as well as from other countries providing public relations services may become the members of the Association. To join the Association, the candidates should submit the president of Association a written application for membership. Along with the application written recommendations by two members of the Association must be submitted as well.

What are the main activities of Association?

What are the risks of the members of Association that do not comply with the Code of Ethics?
Firstly, the member that has breached the Code of Ethics shall be informed about the violation. The member is asked to propose a possible indemnification method in 7 days, otherwise the information about the violation shall be published in the media. The members that are found in violation of Code of Ethics for three times are excluded from the Association.
